Preston Results 08-19

A huge thank you again to everyone that helped at last night's jackpot.  The ground was fantastic and we had some really fast times.  I regret to be a dream crusher, but we unfortunately staked the arena incorrectly last night.  The barrels were set as a full pattern (105 between 2nd - 3rd and 1st - 3rd; 90 between 1st - 2nd), but we staked the timers according to Lewiston's standards of 45 feet instead of the full pattern standard of 60 feet.  Therefore, the timers were 15 short; each barrel run was 30 total feet short for a full pattern time.

I apologize for the inconsistent pattern.  There was only one other person that helped me stake the arena last night and we OBVIOUSLY cannot trust my math skills!  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you are at the arena between 4:00 - 5:30, come help us stake!  If you need to warm up a horse for time only runs, we will make sure you have plenty of time to do the time onlys if you come and help us stake beforehand.  IT DOES NOT WORK to have two people stake the arena, as proven last night at Preston.  There were some riding their horses around at 4:30 and people watching in the stands as we ran back and forth across the arena until 5:30.

Because we were short on Preston jackpots this year with scheduling conflicts, we will be running the final two jackpots all at Preston.  We hope to see you there again on September 9!

Preston Draw 08-19

Below is the draw for tonight's race in Preston.  Sorry for the delay in the draw; thank you for your patience and understanding.  I will also take any late entries until noon today to be added at the end of the draw.

REMINDER: We only have 3 jackpots left, including tonight's jackpot.  Members must run in the open barrels/poles or youth barrels/poles in AT LEAST 5 JACKPOTS to be eligible for year-end awards.  Time only runs do not count toward the total jackpot number for awards.

Please remember to volunteer at some point in the night.  We always need help staking the arena, manning the (2) gates, checking the timers, and setting the barrels and poles.  We appreciate everyone's help because without all of our members' help, we would not be able to run these jackpots.

It was a rough night last night, but we appreciate everyone's support.  It's never easy to lose our horses (our family members), but we are glad that none of our riders got hurt last night.  Our thoughts are with those who lost family members last night.
