Preston Results 04-20

UPDATE: CORRECTED 2D RESULTS BELOW

Below are the results from last night's jackpot in Preston.  Please be patient while the points are updated - it will take a few days for memberships to be verified and points to be posted.

A huge thank you to Callie Smith (and family), Brook Layne, and Wes Harris for helping stake the arena.  Wes Harris also donated his time to be our tractor man for the evening.  He had the arena groomed earlier in the day in preparation for the night, spent all night working the arena, and was the last one to leave the fairgrounds.  When you see Wes Harris and his family, please thank him for helping keep the arena beautiful and having it ready to go.

Also thank you to Jill Wanner for her amazing math and organizational skills in the crow's nest last night.  She does an awesome job announcing for us and staying organized by herself up there.  She is also the last one to leave the arena at night, so please thank Jill when you see her!

We had a lot of complaints for not having an open arena before the jackpot started last night.  A few of the pole stakes got pulled while working the arena.  We had to restake.  The more help we can get staking the arenas and in the time of crisis, the faster we can start the jackpots!!  Thank you to the few that did step up, jump in the arena, and helped find the stakes.  And thank you to our gate crew and barrel setters for the night!  We couldn't do it without all our volunteers and help.

Our next jackpot is May 11 in Malad.  Entries open May 3 - a reminder email about entries will be sent out.  See you in Malad!!

Preston Draw 04-20

Below is the draw for tomorrow night's jackpot in Preston. The youth barrels will start right at 6:30, followed by the open barrels, youth poles, open poles, time only pole runs, and time only barrel runs. Late entries will be taken at the jackpot to be put at the end of the draw.

*IF YOU SHOW UP EARLY AND WE ARE STILL STAKING THE ARENA, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE ARENA ON YOUR HORSE!  Rather, we always welcome an extra set of hands to help stake since we are ALWAYS short handed on stakers.  Thank you ahead of time.

Also, if you have not picked up your jacket or awards from last year's jackpot, they will be available in the crow's nest during the jackpot.

We need barrel/pole setters and two gate openers for tomorrow night's jackpot!! If you have a family member or friend (or friend that would like to make a little extra cash) that is familiar with how to set barrels and poles, please send them up to the crow's nest tomorrow before the jackpot begins. We need 5 volunteers - the setter pot ($1 from each entry) will be split between these 5 volunteers at the end of the night. Each volunteer will need to be at their post from 6:30 to the last open pole run (around 9:00-9:30ish). First come first serve for dibs on the barrels/poles/gates!

It's finally time! Enter now by email for our first jackpot on Monday, April 20 in the Preston arena. Youth barrels starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by open barrels, youth poles, open poles, time only poles, time only barrels.

You may also enter by calling Nicole and leaving a message at 435-232-0775 ONLY on Sunday night, April 19 between 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Entries close at exactly 9:00 p.m., any entries later than 9:00 p.m. will be inserted at the end of the draw.

Memberships are $25 for open members and $15 for youth members. Open events are $26 to enter; youth events are $16 to enter. Nonmembers will be charged a $2 nonmember fee (therefore, $28 open and $18 youth entry fees for nonmembers). Time only runs are $3 each or 2 for $5.

Reminder - First Jackpot April 20

Just a reminder that our season starts on April 20!!! Wahoo!!!!! Get those ponies ready to go!!

Entries for the April 20 jackpot in Preston will open by EMAIL on Sunday, April 12. An email for entries will be sent out explaining how to enter. You will also be able to enter by calling/texting Sunday, April 19. More information for entries soon to follow.

Membership fees and entry fees will be the same as 2014. Open memberships (13 and up) are $25, youth memberships (12 and younger) are $15. Open events are $26 to enter for members ($28 for nonmembers), youth events are $16 to enter for members ($18 for nonmembers).

Remember that we are increasing our association to a 4D (4 division) format! We will pay 3 places in each division to keep the payouts worth the money split. The divisions will be divided as follows: 1D winner = fastest time; 2D winner = fastest time + 1/2 second; 3D winner = fastest time + 1 second; 4D winner = fastest time + 2 seconds. The youth barrels, youth poles, and open poles will keep the same splits as 2014.
